If you have a business that actively promotes social good, you know that small changes can have a large and lasting impact. As your company incorporates positive societal change into your enterprise, it helps to know what major problems the world is facing. Of course, we can all look at our communities and see problems that need solving. However, if we work together to solve some of the world’s largest problems, we will have a broader impact.
One great way to analyze what large problems we should reasonably be tackling is to look at the recommendations of the global organization, The United Nations.
The United Nations Hosts a Social Good Summit in September. This year’s conference takes place September 27th and 28th in New York. According to the Triple Pundit article, “The United Nations Invites You to ‘Lever Up’ Your Social Impact,” by Christen Graham, 17 global goals will be laid out for 2030. The problem areas these goals address include:
- Health Issues
- Subpar Education
- Hunger
- Poverty
- Gender inequality
- Poor water quality
- Unsanitary conditions
- Conflict and Injustice
- Protecting the Planet
- Responsible Consumption
- Sustainable Cities and Communities
Your company may already be tackling some of these key issues in your community, nationally or internationally. However, there is always room to improve and to expand your efforts. Sometimes, a simple conversation with a company that helps you assess your corporate social responsibility can help you find areas to improve. Help begin a sustainable business model by creating a culture of recycling in the workplace.
